Simultaneity
Sleep and waking. Life and death. Transformative cycles which appear to contradict each other are unfolding all the time. Yet there is one common element to these cycles and that is our participation in them. Our essential being is present in all these cycles.
During the Spring we can see one plant exhibiting hibernation, budding and fruiting simultaneously. We, ourselves, experience our lives unfolding on more than one level of manifestation also. Some parts of our self definition are fully formed, some are only seeds of what we could be, and some roles have come to an end. On one level of our experience all of this occurs at once.
Linear thinking wants all of these cycles to connect into one long chain of events with a beginning and an end, but like natural cyclic processes, we can focus on ourselves as undergoing a series of different transformations occurring simultaneously at many different levels of manifestation.
